Guest Facilities

One of two comfortable Guest Houses will be your home away from home during your visit to Chico Basin Ranch. Each house is completely self-contained with three bedrooms, full modern kitchen, and full bath. Both houses feature woodstoves.

Both the Casita and the Holmes Place are nestled in the Vega Pasture, an ancient spring-fed lake bed in the northwest corner of the ranch. Much of the ranch's diverse wildlife calls this area home: mule and white-tailed deer frequent the wooded areas, coyote howl in the pastures, and birds find shelter and nesting areas in the trees surrounding the houses.

Just south of both houses is the Vega Pond, a crescent-shaped, spring-fed lake and wetland that is home to a large number of waterfowl. Spend some time here fishing or canoeing, sketching or writing, or perhaps just enjoying an afternoon siesta in the shade.

Each house comfortably sleeps 6-10 people, and only one group at a time is assigned to either house.
