Lasater Grasslands Beef

A grass-fed beef product that is raised on the Chico Basin Ranch and The Lasater Ranch in Matheson, Colorado.

This beef has no antibiotics, pesticides, or hormones and the animals are not fed any animal by-products. The cattle spend their entire lives grazing grass forage. The beef is dry-aged for two weeks and is flash frozen to preserve freshness. Cuts are sold in individual packages or a quarter, half, or whole animal, processed into an assortment of steaks, roasts, and ground beef. Processing is contracted with small family plants in Colorado that are USDA inspected.

Lasater Grasslands Beef has been in business since 1996, and is owned by the Lasater and Phillips families, both ranching families in Colorado. The management practice of grazing cattle on grass pastures, not using hormones and pesticides, has been in practice for decades on the Lasater Ranch and exemplifies a commitment to raising beef in an environmentally responsible manner.

As ranchers, we are committed to raising a wholesome beef product that harvests renewable natural resources: grass and forbs. Additionally, we view our role as land stewards as being very important, and use our herds as tools in the preservation and enhancement of our land base. We believe that there is a demand for a wholesome food such as grass-fed beef and a desire to support businesses run by families that live on the land and that are dedicated to making this planet a better place for all forms of life, whether it be human, plant, or animal.
