A DAY OF ADVENTURE ON THE PRARIE
~BENEFITING ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND RESEARCH~
 May 17, 2008          7:30 am to 3:00 pm
This is an opportunity to experience an historic working ranch with one of the richest wildlife populations in Colorado:
Over 300 species of birds recorded on the ranch
200 species of wildflowers and almost 60 species of grasses
Teepee Buttes-- methane vents from an ancient tropical sea with lots of fossils to be discovered. Ponds and wetlands with giant old willow trees, 1890’s schoolhouse, sod and adobe ranch houses coyotes, turtles, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, prairie dogs, hawks, and golden eagles. Ancient, magnificent cottonwood trees where bird banding demonstrations will be held. The amazing feels of miles of 87,000 acres of unbroken open space in every direction, with views of Pikes Peak as a backdrop.
